So how did my Feb goals go?
So at the beginning of February I had quite a few goals for the month. But how did it all go?
In summary,
- Finish Sashiko/Embroidery pieces
- I did finish the embroidery piece from this post, but I have yet to finish the Sashiko!
- Take classes on embroidery, sashiko, macrame, watercolor on fabric, tatting, and spinning
- I did indeed! Most of the projects are not finished/wip. I'll be posting about them soon. For now, I spend the next two weeks at least spinning!
- Add to the class list
- I did not in February and instead focused on the above. I may take a few watercolor classes this month because I find lately the only time I do watercolor is in a class, so it's a good excuse and a way to learn new techniques too.
- Shop things- restock fuzzy accessories or make ready-to-ship sets of star clips, or dome terrarium rings, or make unique terrarium pieces
- I did indeed successfully choose one of these and made a *TON* of ready-to-ship sets of star clips. I want to make some more, but all I have left is to group some into sets, take photos, and list them on Lacemarket! That is March's goal, along with finishing the terrarium rings, starting on some fuzzy accessories, and finalizing my plans with resin.
At the beginning of the year, I created a collage with craft goals for early 2021 for fun, separate from my proposed goals in February. There are all specifically personal projects, most that I had lined up or collected before the beginning of 2021.

A collage of crafts for 2021 |
So far I've started to do a few of these, or some variant thereof.
- YeahCrochet mushroom pattern that I was gifted- it may be some time before I can return to crocheting, but I hope to maybe partaking in a class to make a hat in the next few days. I definitely want to get these made before autumn!
- Rosanna Diggs California series embroidery kits- I started one of them via one of her classes in February (photos coming in a future post). I have two other kits from her from this series to do, and a few of her older kits. I have one that I'm working on as well of the shape of California and lemons!
- Hopebroidery's monthly kits- I will have 9 months worth soon and have only really dived into one, so I'm hoping to do a little with that soon. These are super low stress, cozy little snippets of embroidery with chill videos I can follow, so I may spontaneously work on these when I feel like I need a break or haven't stitched for a while.
- Jessica Long embroidery kits- I've amassed quite a few thanks to the super cute book she put out. I've started working on one that is winter birds (but it won't be winter soon anymore so I hope I finish this...)
- Shibori- I have some napkins and aprons I want to dye again using Shibori techniques I learned last year that are also meant to be late presents. On the subject of dyeing, there's a project I want to do with a frilly dress and I just got the supplies fully for it so now it's just matter of deconstructing the dress and dyeing it.
- Sashiko- I want to do the Sashiko.lab 24 days of Sashiko, preferable for fun while streaming. I already have it set up to go at least for a few days. There's some additional patterns too that Kazue put out at the time with the 24 days that I want to stitch. I also have some unfinished work from January and February that I hope to finish soon. There's a class for something completely different this Saturday too! Not to mention all the samplers I have and the lucky pack I need to open of supplies still. So much Sashiko, and I hope to stream a lot of it one day.
- The Crafter's Box cement pots kit, which I did complete! I have to plant my spider plants fully into them and take photos still, but I'm happy to report that I'm fully done with that project.
- More the Crafter's Box, this time block printed fabric. In addition, I have a watercolor and ink box from the Crafter's Box that I would like to complete around the same time. Unrelated to Crafter's Box, I also took a course during the Sew Expo held virtually last month that was using watercolor technique on fabric that I want to play around with some more as well
- Lastly, also from the Crafter's Box, macrame landscapes. I have two different ones, and now that I had a class on macrame at the end of last month, I'm feeling more confident to complete these two projects and the plant hanger kit I got recently.
In addition, since they don't fit into any of these bullet points, I will be working on some tatting and some spinning, the latter in the next two weeks (maybe more if I rent out the spinning wheel a bit longer). Also, I have unfinished projects from the SF Needlework and Design and some kits/patterns that I need to finish, and a new stumpwork project of a mushroom! I have some fun hopes and dreams with stumpwork, and may pivot my plans to work on some things related at a point this year.
I meant to be posting in this blog at the beginning of this week about last week's class bonanza but I've been so focused on trying to stay afloat and not be too exhausted for spinning. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoyed yesterday's and today's posts about my crafting antics, and I hope to bring you a recap of last week and my spinning progress soon.
